  Stunning Vintage Afghani Kuchi tribal pendant, with colorful red and blue glass inserts and rows of large dangly stamped metal pieces that make a soft swishing sound when you move. Remnants of cotton beaded necklace at the bottom.
  
  There is a quiet but strong aesthetic going on here with the balanced design, the vibrant colors and the reflective dangles that produce such a melodious sound.
  
  Substantial, thick piece with great design and rich patina.
  
  In excellent condition overall, missing a few stones, will not affect wear.
  
  String it on a leather cord or a thread cord or a beaded chain necklace. Opening of 1/4 in.

  The word Kuchi itself is from a Persian word meaning migration, in relation to nomads or gypsies, and does not describe a particular group or people, but rather a state of being, incorporating many different tribes and peoples, but in particular the Pashtoon tribes that wandered the border areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Designs are often centuries old and incorporate influences from India, Central Asia, the Middle East, and former Soviet Republic states. The metal used is often melted down from whatever was available to the jeweler.
