  The body of the bird and the branch are realistically rendered in 3D by a labor intensive technique of embroidering over layers and layers of underlying floss. Very few embroiderers are accomplished in this specialized technique. And silk is perfectly suited to capture the soft sheen of bird feathers. You want to instinctively reach out and touch his soft feathers.
